Birthday Cupcakes

Been a little while since I last posted but I have made some little beauties I wanted to share- two giant Birthday cupcakes :)
For the first, I adapted a Victoria sponge cake recipe for the giant pink cupcake, so sponge is Victoria sponge and filled with strawberry jam and cream, then topped with strawberry flavoured icing.
The giant chocolate one is chocolate sponge filled with white, milk and dark chocolate chips, then chocolate ganache in the centre and topped with chocolate icing :) coronary cupcakes...

New Year and New Year Cupcakes

Hey all,

Happy New Year! I've made these New Year cupcakes before but have altered them a bit from the original recipe.
They are champagne flavoured in the recipe, but I have altered it so the sponge of the cupcake is champagne and strawberry flavoured, with pieces of dried strawberry in, while the icing of the cupcake is champagne, strawberry and vanilla flavoured instead of purely champagne :) decorations are glitter, flowers and polka dots, from Hey Little Cupcake (in Manchester) and Sainsbury's.
Pictures are underneath. They are currently housed in a snazzy little cupcake carry-case thing but my lovely friend also got me an adorable cake stand for Christmas. Think I'm starting to get a bit pigeon-holed...

I'm thinking my next big bake might deviate from cupcakes as I seem to have made hundreds in the past month or so. Next on the horizon, maybe a cheesecake or another banoffee pie? Or I might invest in a Hummingbird Bakery book and see what inspiration can be found there.

Peace out x

Pre-Cupcake

Hey all,

Currently veg-ing out in bed and just thought I would update as a bid to avoid having to sleep yet- just watched Easy A with Emma Stone and Penn Badgley in- SUCH a good film. So everyone should watch that obviously, full of angsty teenagers and Puritanical American literature references- some of my favourite things right there. Having said that, I actually did love reading The Scarlet Letter so the geek in me got a bit too into mental comparisons between Easy A and The Scarlet Letter.

My actual reason for writing though is that I have picked out the cupcakes I will be making tomorrow/ Monday but I will save my choice as a surprise until I have photographic evidence of them.
I have included a sneak peak of their decorations though, which I got from the lovely Hey Little Cupcake in Manchester. Actually really cheap too, I was looking at similar stuff in Tesco's/ Waitrose/ Sainsbury's and none matched up price-wise or in terms of cute value. Sorry supermarket giants.

Going to have a little internet surf to see if I can find any more exciting cupcake decorations :] will update post-baking tomorrow :]

Cakes Thus Far...

Hi all,

Thank you for having a peruse of my blog! As lame as I think blogs are, I've cracked and thought I would set something up so I can keep random photos of cakes I have made so far in one place. I'm on a bit of a cupcake roll at the moment so I will update every week or two- but expect A LOT of cupcake photos to be the theme for the next couple :] haven't made a cheesecake for a while so maybe that will pop up soon, who can predict these things?!

I hope you like :]

If you want recipes or anything, holler peeeeeeps!
Muchos amore
